Terms of Sale & License

These terms govern the purchase, licensing, and use of the Oxide for Windows commercial release.

1. Product & Purchase Scope

Oxide is delivered as a compiled digital executable for the Windows operating system. When you complete checkout:

• One-time fee: The purchase price of $9 USD is a single, non-recurring payment granting perpetual access to the current 0.6.1 release build. There are no recurring subscriptions or mandatory renewal charges.
• Current release focus: Your license applies specifically to the current release package. It does not include an entitlement to future major feature overhauls, recurring updates, or lifetime feature guarantees.

2. License Grant & Permitted Use

Subject to these terms and payment of the purchase price, you receive a non-exclusive, perpetual, non-transferable license to install and execute Oxide on personal computers and workstations owned or controlled by you.

This license covers both personal use and internal commercial or business use within your own operations.

3. Proprietary Rights & Restrictions

This compiled release build is distributed as commercial proprietary software through our release infrastructure.

• No redistribution: You may not redistribute, resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or publicly mirror this executable package or any proprietary portion thereof.
• Reverse engineering: You may not decompile, disassemble, or reverse-engineer the proprietary binary portions of the software, except and solely to the extent permitted by mandatory statutory provisions of applicable law (such as statutory interoperability rights under UK or European copyright legislation) that cannot be waived by agreement.

4. Third-Party Components & Prior Releases

The software incorporates third-party open-source components and libraries. These components remain governed by their respective licenses as detailed in the accompanying third-party notices documentation.

Any prior public releases of the Oxide source code published under the MIT License retain their existing grants in accordance with that license. Nothing in these commercial terms revokes or alters grants applicable to those prior public versions.

5. Technical & System Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that your target systems meet the minimum requirements:

• Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit x64 architecture).
• Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (pre-installed on modern Windows editions).
• Direct Master File Table (MFT) scanning requires elevated administrator privileges on an NTFS volume. Standard unprivileged execution utilizes standard Win32 directory traversal.

6. Scope of Functionality & Warranty

Oxide is an analytical disk space tool designed solely for read-only volume inspection. It does not perform automated disk cleaning, file deletion, or file deduplication.

The software is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind regarding specific drive configurations or non-standard storage environments, to the maximum extent permitted under applicable law.

7. Statutory Cancellation Rights & 14-Day Refunds

Under UK consumer law, consumers have a 14-day statutory right to cancel a contract for digital content. By requesting immediate download access upon purchase and starting the download, you acknowledge that this statutory cancellation right is waived once the download begins.

This waiver does not limit our direct commercial commitment: under our Refund Policy, you may still request a full refund within 14 days of purchase if Oxide does not perform as expected on your hardware or fit your workflow, regardless of whether you started the download.

8. Seller Identity & Customer Support

Oxide is published and sold by Keethesh Mootoosamy, operating as an individual sole trader in the United Kingdom.
